We recognize the widespread uncertainty right now in so many areas that will have a deep and lasting impact on all global communities affected by HIV: people with and at risk for HIV, researchers, caregivers, and so many more. As the CROI Program Committee monitors the evolving situation, we remain committed to continuing to present and discuss the most impactful science in our field through this years’ conference.

In response to changes in US Federal Government guidelines on employee presentation and travel, we understand that accepted abstract authors who are impacted by the policy may need to update or remove their inclusion on CROI abstracts or update their in-person participation at CROI to virtual attendance. If you need to make a change in abstract authorship, please email CROIinfo@iasusa.org with the abstract information and the specific action needed.

  • February 11, 2025 – To be removed from the list of authors in the printed program
  • February 27, 2025 – to be removed from the list of authors on an abstract in electronic materials (eg, mobile app, website, abstract archive)
  • If you are the presenting author and you cannot present due to travel restrictions, please contact us with the abstract information and the new presenting author (by February 11 for the printed program and by February 27 for electronic materials)

If you have not already registered and plan to attend, please do so by February 20, 2025. See Registration at CROIconference.org for more details. If you need to change your current registration from in-person to virtual participation, email CROIinfo@iasusa.org. You will receive information about canceling any hotel reservations then.

If you are a Federal Government employee and there are no changes necessary, you do not need to contact us. Unless we hear from you by the dates above, you will not be removed from any abstracts.

If you are not impacted by these policy changes (eg, you are not a Federal Government employee), you do not need to do anything. Updates on the impact on CROI 2025 and answers to most questions about CROI can be found at CROIconference.org.
