Dr Myer is Head of the School of Public Health & Family Medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where he is also a Professor in the Division of Epidemiology & Biostatistics. His research focuses on women’s, maternal, and child health in the context of HIV across southern Africa. His work includes clinical, health systems and population-based studies investigating the health of women with HIV during pregnancy and postpartum, the health and development of their families over time, and HIV prevention options for women at risk of HIV acquisition.
